Olena Witalijiwna Krawazka ( Ukrainian Олена Віталіївна Кравацька , in the English transliteration Olena Kravatska ; born June 22, 1992 in Chernivtsi , Ukraine ) is a Ukrainian saber fencer . She is a silver medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with the women's team .

Olena Krawazka started fencing at the age of eight in Odessa , which is traditionally practiced in her family. Later she studied sports education at the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University of Odessa and competed for the Ukrainian association gymnastics and sports society “Dynamo” of Ukraine (Odessa regional organization).

Sporting successes

At the Fencing World Championships 2014 in Kazan, Krawazka achieved third place (bronze) with the saber women's team (Krawazka, Olha Charlan , Olena Voronina and Olha Shownir ). At the European Fencing Championships 2015 in Montreux at the beginning of June , she won bronze with the women's saber team, in the same month she won the gold medal at the 2015 European Games in Baku and a month later at the 2015 World Fencing Championships in Moscow she won, also with the Team, silver. At the 2016 Summer Olympics , she won the silver medal with the team (Krawazka, Olha Charlan, Olena Voronina and Alina Komashchuk ).

Honors

On October 4th, 2016 she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga 3rd Class by the Ukrainian President for achieving high sports results at the 31st Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
