The Ukrainian team in July 2016

The Ukraine took 205 athletes, including eight Olympic champions in 22 sports at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in part. It is the seventh participation in the Summer Olympic Games. The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine nominated the athletes for the individual sports.

The flag bearer of the Ukrainian Olympic team at the opening ceremony was the marksman and Olympic champion of Sydney Mykola Milchev . The Ukrainian flag bearer at the closing ceremony was Olha Charlan , who won a silver and a bronze medal at the games. The most successful athlete in Ukraine was the gymnast Oleh Vernyayev , who won a gold and a silver medal.
