Macedonia took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the sixth participation in the Summer Olympic Games. The Macedonian Olympic Committee nominated six athletes in four sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the swimmer Anastasija Bogdanovski .
