Uganda took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the 15th participation in the Summer Olympics. The Uganda Olympic Committee nominated 21 athletes in three sports.
The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the swimmer Joshua Tibatemwa . Athlete Halima Nakaayi led the delegation at the closing ceremony .
