Bahamas participated in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the 16th participation in the Summer Olympics. The Bahamas Olympic Association nominated 28 athletes in three sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Shaunae Miller . Athlete Leevan Sands led the athletes from the Bahamas at the closing ceremony .
