Palestine took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the sixth participation in the Summer Olympic Games. Six athletes in four sports have been nominatedby the Palestinian Olympic Committee .
The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the marathon runner Mayada Al-Sayad .
