BDI
Burundi took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the sixth participation in the Summer Olympic Games. The Comité National Olympique du Burundi nominated nine athletes in three sports.
The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Olivier Irabaruta . At the closing ceremony , the swimmer Billy-Scott Irakoze led the delegation.
