Target agreements of the German Olympic Sports Confederation

For the Olympic Games, the DOSB agrees target corridors with the individual sports associations for the number of medals and finals that can be achieved. The achievement or failure of these goals in turn has an impact on the support of the sports associations by the DOSB for the coming Olympic cycle.

Before the games, the DOSB communicated the desire to win at least 44 medals again, as they did at the games four years ago in London.

Triathlon pictogram.svg Triathlon

The German Triathlon Union (DTU) was entitled to three starting places for women and two for men. On June 19, the DTU submitted a nomination proposal. The DOSB nominated only Anne Haug on July 12, 2016 due to the persistently weak results , leaving four starting places unoccupied. After a lawsuit by Rebecca Robisch , the Frankfurt am Main regional court decided that the DOSB had to re-regulate the triathlon nominations. This new regulation resulted in a nomination by Laura Lindemann .
