Christopher Rühr

January Christopher stirring (* 19th December 1993 in Dusseldorf ) is a German Hockey - National player .

In his childhood, Christopher Rühr played like his 3 older siblings at the Kahlenberger HTC , in his youth he played for 10 years with Uhlenhorst Mülheim and one year 2014/15 in the Hamburg Club on the Alster . In January 2014 he was voted the "talent of the world" (best youth player in the world), in 2015 he moved to Rot-Weiss Cologne and won the German field hockey championship title in his first season with Cologne. In January 2016 he was voted "Rising Star" (Best Youth Player in the World) for the second time.

At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Christopher Rühr was represented in the German squad together with five other Rot-Weiss Köln players. The German team won the bronze medal.

For winning this bronze medal, he and the Olympic hockey team were honored with the silver laurel leaf on November 1, 2016 .

He has played a total of 81 senior internationals so far. (As of August 5, 2016)

In 2012 Rühr graduated from the Otto Pankok School in Mülheim .
