Ku Bon-chan ( kor. 구본 찬 ; born January 31, 1993 ) is a South Korean archer and Olympic champion .

Career

Ku Bon-chan took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and won the individual gold medal after beating Jean-Charles Valladont in the final . Together with Kim Woo-jin and Lee Seung-yun , he also won the gold medal in the team competition .

With the team he had already achieved several successes: in 2015 he won the world championship with her in Copenhagen and in 2014 the bronze medal at the Asian Games in Incheon . At the 2015 World Championships, he also won gold in the mixed team with Ki Bo-bae .

He trains at Andong National University in Andong .
