Kim Woo-jin ( kor. 김우진 ; born June 20, 1992 ) is a South Korean archer and Olympic champion .

Career

At the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou , Kim Woo-jin won gold both individually and with the team. In 2011 in Turin and 2015 in Copenhagen , he became world champion both individually and with the team.

Kim Woo-jin took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Together with Ku Bon-chan and Lee Seung-yun , he won the gold medal in the team competition .

In the individual ranking he set a new world record with 700 points. He exceeded the record of his compatriot Im Dong-hyun , who had reached 699 points at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . In the subsequent knockout round , he was surprisingly eliminated in the second round against Riau Ega Agatha .
