At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , he reached fifth place in the individual. In the quarterfinals he was eliminated against the later silver medalist Magnus Petersson with 111: 112. Together with Oh Kyo-moon and Jang Yong-ho , he became Olympic champion in the team competition.
