Magnus Petersson (born June 17, 1975 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish archer .

Career

Magnus Petersson began archery in 1985 and made his international debut in 1992. He took part in a total of four Olympic Games . In 1996 in Atlanta he finished second behind Justin Huish and won the silver medal. With the team, he finished sixth. At the 2000 Games in Sydney , he narrowly missed a medal. In the individual, he finished fourth behind Wietse van Alten , with the team he was again sixth. In 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing he clearly missed the medal ranks in the individual with 23 and 19 respectively. In the team competition he only appeared again in 2004, where he finished ninth with Sweden.

At world championships , the runner-up title with the team from 2003 was his greatest success.
