Julian Justus (born January 29, 1988 in Homberg (Ohm) ) is a German marksman . Justus participated in the 2012 Summer Games in the British London in the discipline "10 m air rifle " ( English 10 meter air rifle ) and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro in the discipline "10 m Air Rifle" ( English 10 meter air rifle ) part.

The trained industrial mechanic competes at club level for SGi Homberg (Ohm) in the rifle disciplines G-KK ( small bore rifle ) and LG (air rifle).

In 2009 Justus took part in the European shooting championships for the first time. At the title fights in Osijek , Croatia , he won the bronze medal in the discipline “Small-bore rifle 50-m three-position battle”, and the Middle Hesse also took part in the “Small-bore rifle 50-m lying team” (4th place) and "Small-bore rifle" competitions 50-m three-position fight team "(8th place).

At the World Championships in Munich the following year, Justus came fifth in the "Small bore rifle 50-m three-position team" and eighth place in the "Small bore rifle 50-m prone team".

In 2011, Julian Justus achieved fifth place in the “10 m air rifle” at the European Indoor Championships in Brescia, Italy, both individually and with the team. At the open-air European championships in Belgrade , Serbia , he reached fourth place in the "Small bore rifle 50-m three-position team". At world cup events in the discipline “Small bore rifle 50-m three-position competition”, the 178 centimeter tall sports shooter achieved sixth place in 2009 in Munich, while in 2010 he won the competition in the Chinese capital Beijing .

In May 2012, Justus qualified as the first German air rifle shooter for the Summer Olympics in the same year, where he was eliminated with 595 rings in 12th place.

In June 2015 Justus took part in the 2015 European Games in Baku , Azerbaijan . He failed as 10th in the qualification with 625.0 points.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , he retired with 622.8 rings as 18th in the qualification.

Julian Justus is trained by the rifle national trainer Claus-Dieter Roth .
