Andreas Bretschneider (born August 4, 1989 in Berlin ) is a German gymnast .

Bretschneider took 4th place with the team at the 2014 European Gymnastics Championships in Sofia . In 2013, 2014 and 2016 he won the high bar finals at the championship tournament . He is a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr sports promotion group . In November 2014 he showed a new gymnastics element on the horizontal bar at the DTB Cup in Stuttgart . The Kovács salto with two turns of the longitudinal axis was included as a Bretschneider in the official scoring regulations as an H value part. It is the first and so far only gymnastics element with the specially introduced difficulty value of 0.80 (maximum difficulty).
