Yvonne Frank

Yvonne Frank (born February 7, 1980 in Duisburg ) is a German hockey goalkeeper and national player.

Life

At the age of four, Frank was still playing soccer for SV Duissern , under the supervision of her father, the club's head coach. At the age of ten she finally switched to field hockey and began her career at Club Raffelberg Duisburg.

After graduating from high school, she completed an apprenticeship with the Cologne police from 1999 to 2002 . After moving to Hamburg , she works as a police superintendent in the traffic service of the Hamburg police .

Athletic career

Yvonne Frank started at Club Raffelberg and played there from youth to the Bundesliga. In 2004 she moved to Rot-Weiß Köln ; with the Cologne women she became German champion in 2007. After the Olympic Games in 2008, where she did not make the leap into the final squad, she moved to Uhlenhorster HC in Hamburg in 2009 .

In 2002 Yvonne Frank made her debut in the German national hockey team . She completed her first assignment at the European Indoor Championships, where she contributed to winning the title. A year later she became indoor world champion with the German team. In the years that followed, she participated in many large outdoor tournaments. In 2005 she became Vice European Champion, in 2006 she won the FIH Champions Trophy . In 2007 the German team won the European Championship in Manchester . In 2008 she took second place with the German team at the Champions Trophy in Mönchengladbach .

Yvonne Frank has played over 158 international matches, 13 of them indoors. (As of 5 August 2016) At the 2012 Summer Games in London in London Frank is in her second Olympic participation stem goalkeeper.

4-time NRW police athlete of the year (2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007)
