Belarus took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the sixth participation in the Summer Olympic Games. The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus nominated 124 athletes in 21 sports.

The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the marksman Sjarhej Martynau , Olympic champion in 2012 , who did not take part in the competitions as a marksman.
