Valentino Manfredonia (born September 29, 1989 in Jaboatão dos Guararapes , Brazil ) is an Italian light heavyweight boxer .

successes

amateur

In 2006 he won a bronze medal at the European Cadet Championships in Tirana and in 2007 a bronze medal at the Dan Pozniak Cup in Lithuania.

He then only reappeared in 2013 when he won the Italian Championship. In 2014 he also won the EU championships in Sofia by beating Darren O'Neill in the final . In the same year he reached second place in the tournaments Strandja Memorial in Bulgaria and Vllaznia Memorial in Albania, where he also managed a knockout victory against Pawel Siljagin .

In 2015 he won the silver medal at the European Games in Baku . After victories against Ukë Smajli, Džemal Bošnjak and Oleksandr Chyschnjak , he was only defeated in the final against Teymur Məmmədov . At the 2016 Olympics, he was eliminated in the first fight against Mikhail Dauhaliavets.

He finished the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv with a bronze medal after losing to Joe Ward in the semifinals . He then took part in the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he was eliminated in the round of 16.

World Series of Boxing

In the 2015 season Manfredonia was used for Italia Thunder in all seven fights of the regular season and won all of them. He finished first in the ranking of his weight class this season and qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games .
