Oleksandr Oleksandrowytsch Chysnjak ( Ukrainian Олександр Олександрович Хижняк ; born August 3, 1995 in Poltava , Ukraine ) is a Ukrainian boxer. He is European and 2017 world champion middleweight .

successes

Chysnjak won the silver medal at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Hungary , as well as the gold medal at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Armenia and the bronze medal at the 2013 European Youth Championships in the Netherlands .

In the elite class (adults) he also won a bronze medal at the 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan . After failing to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in the light heavyweight division and not having reached the medal ranks at the 2015 World Championships, he switched to middleweight division.

In March 2017 he won the U22 European Championships with victories against Stephan Nikitin, Andrej Csemez , Salvatore Cavallaro , Dmitri Nesterow and Viktor Deschkewitsch. In June 2017 he also started at the European Championships and won the gold medal here too, after beating Mariusz Gnas, Benjamin Whittaker , Pjotr ​​Chamukow , Salvatore Cavallaro and Kamran Şahsuvarlı . He was then qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he also won the gold medal. After victories against Andrej Csemez, Benjamin Whittaker and Troy Isley , he moved into the final, where he defeated Äbilchan Amanqul .
