Pyotr Muchamedowitsch Chamukow ( Russian Пётр Мухамедович Хамуков * 15. July 1991 in Labinsk , Krasnodar Region ) is a Russian boxer .

Career

Russian championships

Pyotr Chamukow was Russian junior welterweight champion in 2008 and 2009, and Russian welterweight runner-up in 2010 after losing to Andrei Samkowoi in the final . In 2011 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals and won a bronze medal in the middleweight division in 2012 after losing in the semifinals to Artyom Chebotaryov .

In 2013 he was eliminated again in the quarterfinals, but won again the silver medal in the middleweight division in 2014 after losing in the final to Artyom Chebotaryov. He had previously won against Maxim Koptjakow . In 2015 he was able to defeat Artyom Chebotaryov, among others, but then got out of the semi-finals without a fight and won bronze in the middleweight division.

In 2016 he finally became the Russian middleweight champion and defeated Maxim Koptjakov in the fight for the gold medal. In 2018 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Koptjakow.

International success

In his youth he was the eighth - finalist of the 2008 World Youth Championships and quarter-finalist of the 2009 European Junior Championships. In 2013, he won the Middleweight World Combat Games in Saint Petersburg .

His greatest international success was winning the gold medal in the middleweight division at the 2015 European Championships in Samokov . He defeated the Norwegian Martin Larsen, the Belgian Ibrahim Boulafdal, the Ukrainian Valeri Tscharlamow, the Georgian hall Kwatschatadze and in the final the Poland Tomasz Jabłoński . He then started at the 2015 World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Uzbek Bektemir Meliqoʻziyev .

In 2016 he took part in the light heavyweight division at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he failed in the first fight against Albert Ramírez .

At the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Chysnjak . At the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , he lost to Jorge Vivas in the round of 16 .

World Series of Boxing

In the 2012/13 season Chamukov played his first two fights for the Russian Boxing Team in the World Series of Boxing , which he won both. In the following season he was used twice and won one of them.

In the 2015 season, Khamukov was used in six of seven regular season fights and won all of them. He took first place in the ranking of his weight class this season and qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games.
