Tomasz Jabłoński (* 29. December 1988 in Danzig ) is a Polish boxer in the middleweight division .

Career

The 1.77 m tall middleweight (up to 75 kg) was Polish champion in 2012 and 2014. In 2011 he was eliminated from the European Championships in Ankara in the first fight against Zoltán Harcsa and failed at the World Championships in Baku in the third preliminary round to Andranik Hakobjan . In 2012 he took part in the Olympic qualification tournament in Trabzon , but was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Then he was only used again at the 2015 European Championships in Samokow . With wins against Dmitro Tretjak, Leon Chartoy, Max van der Pas and Salvatore Cavallaro , he reached the final, lost there against Pyotr Chamukov and thus won the silver medal. It was the first European Championship medal for a Polish boxer since 2008 and the first European Championship finals for a Pole since 1993.

At the subsequent World Championships in 2015 in Doha , he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Indian Vikas Krishan . At the 2016 Olympics , he was eliminated in the first fight against Daniel Lewis .

World Series of Boxing (WSB)

In the WSB Jabłoński boxed for the team "Rafako Hussars Poland" and is also the team captain. In the 2012/13 season, he enters three regular season bouts, all of which he won, and was also used in the quarterfinals of the playoffs against Italia Thunder, but lost his fight. In the 2013/14 season Jabłoński played another three fights, of which he won two. In the 2015 season, he finished third in the middleweight rankings with six wins from seven fights. Since the runner-up Arlen López had already qualified at the 2015 World Championships , this placement was enough for Jabłoński to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games .

Others

In the 2014/15 season, Jabłoński from Nordhäuser SV was used twice in the German Boxing League. He won both fights.
