Artem Chebotarev ( Russian Артём Николаевич Чеботарёв * 26. October 1988 in Saratov ) is a Russian professional boxer in the middleweight division .

Career

amateur

Artyom Tschebortarjow comes from Saratov , started boxing as a junior and was a member of the Dynamo sports association . In 2004 he first attracted attention when he won the European Cadet Championship in Saratov. In 2005 he reached the welterweight finals at the largest Russian boxing tournament for juniors, the "Battle of Stalingrad" in Volgograd , where he lost to his future national team colleague Andrei Samkowoi . In 2007 he won this welterweight tournament with four wins, in which he won the final over his Russian colleague Dimitri Smirnow. In the same year he became Russian junior champion and was welterweight at the junior European championship in Sombor . There he fought his way up to the final with three wins, in which he lost on points against Yevhen Chytrow from Ukraine .

In 2008, Chebotaryov finished third in the Russian Middleweight Championship. He lost his semi-final fight against Dmitri Tschudinow on points. In the same year he started in Germany for the first time and defeated opponents such as Jarrod Fletcher from Australia and Konstantin Buga from Germany at the Chemistry Cup in Halle . In the final, however, he had to admit defeat to the experienced Indian Vijender Kumar on points.

In 2009, Chebotaryov won the Russian elimination tournament for the World Cup in Milan in Chekhov and defeated Maxim Koptjakow (11: 3). At the world championship itself he won his first fight over the Austrian champion Oliver Obradovic by points (17: 1), but had to admit defeat to Cuban Rey Eduardo Recio on points (6:26 ) in the round of the last "32" ), with which he was eliminated and only finished 17th.
