Kamran Namiq oğlu Şahsuvarlı , English Kamran Shakhsuvarly (* 6. December 1992 in Qobustan ) is an Azerbaijani boxer in the middleweight (-75 kg).

Career

Kamran Şahsuvarlı took part in the European Olympic qualification in Samsun in April 2016 , where he was eliminated in the first fight against Christian Assomo . In June 2016 he started the worldwide Olympic qualification in Baku , where he made it to the quarter-finals with a bye for the first preliminary round, a points win in the second preliminary round against the Albanian Arjon Kajoshi and a points win in the round of 16 against Joan Gonzalez from Venezuela. There he was defeated by Michael O'Reilly from Ireland , but received a place in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro as a quarter-finalist who was eliminated from the eventual gold medalist .

At the Olympic Games he defeated the Chinese Zhao Minggang (3-0) in the preliminary round, the Russian Artyom Chebotaryov (2-1 ) in the second round and the Kazakhs Schänibek Älimchanuly (2-1 ) in the quarter-finals . In the semifinals he lost to the Cuban Arlen López (0: 3) and therefore got out of the games with a bronze medal.

At the European Championships in 2017 he won the silver medal after losing to Oleksandr Chysnjak in the final . He had previously defeated Emmett Brennan, Silvio Schierle and Zoltán Harcsa . This qualified him for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he reached the semifinals against Max van der Pas and Jorge Vivas . There he was eliminated against Äbilchan Amanqul with 2: 3 and won a bronze medal.

At the European Games in 2019 he lost to Michael Nevin.
