Christian M'Billi Assomo-Hallier (born April 26, 1995 in Yaoundé ) is a French boxer with roots in Cameroon .

Amateur career

The 1.74 m tall standard boom was born in Cameroon and came to France as a child, where he practiced boxing. In 2012 he was accepted into the French national team. In July 2013 he reached second place in the Serbian Golden Gloves of Vojvodina . In August 2013 he won the gold medal at the European Youth Championships in Rotterdam , Netherlands. He defeated the Albanian Syrja Marinaj, the Belarusian Viktor Deschkewitsch, the Georgian Irakli Katamadze, the Italian Salvatore Cavallaro and the Russian Alexander Agafonow.

Since January 2014 he boxed in the elite class (adults). In April of this year he won the Gee-Bee tournament in Finland and surprisingly beat the reigning world champion Schänibek Älimchanuly in the final fight . In May, he won the Chemistry Cup in Germany, defeating Anthony Fowler and Maxim Koptjakow , among others . In June he won the Liventsev Memorial in Belarus and started at the EU Championships in Sofia , Bulgaria in August . There he won the gold medal with victories against Salvatore Cavallaro from Italy, Danny Dignum from England, Victor Corobcevschii from Moldova and Michael O'Reilly from Ireland.

In January 2015 his record was 46 wins from 54 fights. In February he won the French Championship and in May the Box-Am Tournament in Spain. In June he took part in the European Games in Baku , defeated Victor Corobcevschii in the preliminary round, but was eliminated in the round of 16 against the later silver medalist Xaybula Musalov . At the 2015 World Championships he lost to Bektemir Meliqoʻziyev in the round of 16 . In November 2015 he won the Tammer tournament in Finland. He defeated among others the Englishman Anthony Fowler .

He was also part of the Puerto Rico Hurricanes team, a participant in the World Series of Boxing (WSB), since March 2015 . He fought three fights that he could all win, two of them prematurely. In February 2016 he won the Istvan Bocskai tournament in Hungary, defeating Zoltán Harcsa among others . In March 2016 he won the Gee-Bee Tournament in Finland. He beat Michael O'Reilly in the final.

In April 2016 he won the European Olympic qualification tournament in Samsun with victories against Kamran Şahsuvarlı from Azerbaijan, Damian Biacho from Spain, Ilari Kujala from Finland, Anthony Fowler from England and Zoltán Harcsa from Hungary. At the Olympic Games , he defeated Dmytro Mytrofanow and Marlon Delgado before being eliminated in the quarterfinals against Arlen López .

Professional career

Assomo has been boxing as a professional in Canada and France since February 2017 . On May 19, 2018, he became the WBC youth middleweight champion.
