The World Series of Boxing (WSB) is an international boxing league under the umbrella of the Association Internationale de Boxe Amateure (AIBA), the world association of Olympic boxing.
World Series of Boxing In the World Series of Boxing (WSB) twelve teams from America, Europe and Asia compete against each other with boxers from over 50 nations. The teams are divided into two groups in which six teams compete against each other. Almost all medal winners of the 2012 Olympic Games in London are among the 200 or so boxers at WSB. The quota of foreigners per team is a maximum of 40 percent. The best Olympic boxers compete for the third time worldwide in this professional competition.
The individual fights consist of five rounds, each lasting three minutes. After each round, each of the three judges evaluates the round according to the so-called "Ten Point Must System".
Each of the five fights is part of the team's overall result for the evening. The team with more fights won receives three points for the overall table. If the result is 5-0 or 4-1 in fights, the losing team receives zero points. In the event that the final score is 3-2 in fights, the losing team receives one point. At the end of the preliminary round, the first four teams in each group qualify for the playoff of the World Series of Boxing. In the quarter-finals, the fourth in Group A fights against the winner of Group B for a place in the semi-finals, the third-placed in Group A meets the second in Group B, etc. At the end of the playoffs there is the team final, in which it is 1,000. $ 000 in prize money goes to the winning team.
At the end of the season, the two most successful fighters in each weight class compete against each other in the individual finals for the WSB Individual title.
Weight classes The weight classes are analogous to the standards of the International Boxing Association (AIBA).
