Islamic Solidarity Games

The Islamic Solidarity Games ( Arabic ألعاب التضامن الإسلامي), literally: " Islamic Games of Solidarity ", are sporting competitions between Islamic states. They were first held in 2005 and take place every four years.

The 2nd Islamic Solidarity Games had to be canceled in 2010 after the host Iran insisted on using the name Persian Gulf in the logo , but the other neighboring countries call it the Arab Gulf (see naming the Persian Gulf ).
