Rey Eduardo Recio
Rey Eduardo Recio (born March 25, 1991 ) is a Cuban boxer .
Career
Rey Eduardo Recio from Havana started boxing as a child and is now one of the best Cuban boxers in the youth field. He has been a member of the Cuban junior team since 2006 and that of the senior team since 2009. He is now being trained by Pedro Roque.
In 2007 he started at the Junior World Championships (Cadets) in Baku , where he won the world championship title in the weight class up to 70 kg with five victories. In the final he defeated Roman Tawadze from Georgia by breaking off in the 2nd round.
In 2008 Rey Eduardo Recio took an excellent 3rd place at the Cuban Senior Middleweight Championships. He suggested u. a. the former Cuban champion Yudiel Nápoles on points (25:16) before he lost in the semifinals to Arinoides Despaigne on points (7:24). In the same year he was middleweight title holder at the 1st World Youth Championships in Guadalajara / Mexico . Four wins were enough for him to win the title. In the final battle he won against the German Enrico Koelling with a 4-2 goal on points. Then he started with the seniors in Havana at the so-called 4th Olimpiad and won there again in the middleweight division over Yudiel Nápoles on points (16: 9). But against Emilio Correa he suffered a point defeat in the next fight (1:11). Towards the end of the year he started for Havana in the Cuban team championship. He had to go into the ring five times within seven days. He won over Luis Michel, Guantánamo , Yordakis Rabelo, Camagüey and Lesniel Díaz, Pinar del Río and lost to Arisnoide Despaigne , Santiago de Cuba and Maikel Pérez , Villa Clara . In such difficult tournaments the Cuban boxers u. a. their hardness, which then distinguishes them in the international championships.
In 2009 the Cuban championship came to an end in the round of 16 when he lost this time against Yudiel Nápoles on points (7:12). In the course of the year, despite his young age, he also fought his way to the top of the senior middleweight division. Only Emilio Correa is still ahead of him. He finished 3rd at the Strandjata tournament in Plovdiv after losing points to Sergei Derewjantschenko from Ukraine and won the 3rd ALBA games in Santiago de Cuba with victories over Terence Vorrath from Germany , Maikel Pérez and Juan Carlos Rodríguez Venezuela tournament winner and came in at the 39th Giraldo Córdova Cardín Memorial in Sancti Spíritus after a defeat in the semifinals against Alfonso Blanco from Venezuela on the 3rd place.
Due to an injury to Emilio Correa, he will also compete in the Seniors World Cup in Milan in September 2009. There he won points over Norbert Harcsa , Hungary , (15: 5) and Artjom Tschebotarjow from Russia (26: 6). In the last sixteen he was defeated by the German Konstantin Buga just on points (9:10) and was eliminated.
In the spring of 2010, Rey Eduardo Recio was eliminated from tournaments in Debrecen and Jambol after the first round and has not been considered for the national team since then.
