Arisnoide Despaigne started boxing as a teenager in his hometown of Santiago de Cuba. In the junior or youth age, he did not manage to establish himself in the Cuban top class boxers. After switching to the men, he took part in a Cuban championship for the first time in 2005. It started in the light welterweight division , but lost in the round of 16 against Estenio Guiterrez and finished in 9th place. In 2006 he started at the 3rd Cuban Olympiad in Havana, one of the most important tournaments in Cuba. But he lost again in the round of 16 against his compatriot Yudel Jhonson.

In 2007 Arisnoide Despaigne won the first medal at a Cuban championship. He came in the light welterweight division into the semifinals, in which he lost to Richard Poll on points (9:19). At the Cuban championship in 2008 he moved to a higher weight class, but not to the next higher, the welterweight, but to the middleweight division in order to avoid constant training . He made it straight to the final. In which, however, he had no chance of winning against Emilio Correa and lost on points (1:19). In the previous semifinals he had a remarkable victory over Rey Eduardo Recio (24: 7).

In 2009 he became Cuban champion for the first time. In the middleweight finals, he clearly defeated Maikel Perez on points (10: 1). He repeated this success in 2010 with a points win in the final of the middleweight division over Rey Eduardo Recio (7: 4). That year he had another important success. At the 5th Cuban Olympiad in Camaguey, he won the welterweight tournament. In one of the preliminary rounds he defeated Carlos Banteur on points (11: 4), who was to become one of his main competitors in his further career. In addition, Arisnoide Despaigne won in Havana in 2010 in an international match against Colombia over Leonardo Carillo on points.

In 2011 he lost in the final of the Cuban Championship against Carlos Banteur on points (9:15). He was nevertheless used by the Cuban Association at the qualifying tournament for the Pan American Games in Cumana / Venezuela, but surprisingly lost his first welterweight fight against Carlos Sanchez from Ecuador. In May 2012 he was sent to the American Olympic qualifying tournament in Rio de Janeiro in the welterweight division. After beating Aaron Price from Trinidad, he lost in the round of 16 against Myke Carvalho from Brazil on points (9:17). He only came in 9th place. In December 2012, Arisnoide Despaigne was again Cuban welterweight runner-up. In the final he was defeated by Rosniel Iglesias , who a few months earlier had become Olympic light welterweight champion in London , on points (7:20).

In 2013, Arisnoide Despaigne made his breakthrough on an international level. In June of this year he won the Giraldo-Córdova-Cardín-Tournament in Havana, the most important Cuban welterweight tournament. On the way to the tournament he beat u. a. Gabriel Maestre , Venezuela, Islam Edisultanow , Russia and again Rosnierl Iglesias. At the Pan American Championship in Santiago de Chila, he came to a victory over Jamontay Clark from the United States. But he lost the revenge against Gabriel Maestre in the semi-finals just on points (1: 2 judges' votes) and came in 3rd place. At the world championship in Almaty he won welterweight over Hurschid Normatow, Uzbekistan (2: 1), Ilyas Abbadi, Algeria (3: 0), Custio Clayton , Canada (3: 0), Aram Amirchanjan, Armenia (3: 0) and Gabriel Maestre (3-0).
