At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , two competitions (duet and team) for women in synchronized swimming took place. They were held from August 14th to 20th in the Parque Aquático Maria Lenk . In both competitions, the Russian team won ahead of the People's Republic of China and Japan .
