Ona Carbonell Ballestero (born June 5, 1990 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish synchronized swimmer . She took part in the Olympic Games, World and European Championships and won a wealth of medals. She is the team leader of the Spanish synchronized swimming team. In 2013 she received the Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo in silver.
London 2012
Her partner in winning the silver medal for the duet in synchronized swimming at the 2012 Olympics in London was Andrea Fuentes . Gold medal winners were the Russians Natalja Ishchenko and Swetlana Romaschina , while the bronze went to China. In the team, again with Fuentes and among others Paula Klamburg , bronze jumped out behind China and the Russian gold winners.
Berlin 2014
At the 2014 European Swimming Championships in Berlin, Carbonell won a medal in all synchronized swimming competitions: in solo and in combination silver and in duo and team bronze. This time the duo partner was her Catalan compatriot Paula Klamburg Roque. In the solo, Carbonell was inferior to Swetlana Romaschina, not for the first time, but relegated the Ukrainian Anna Woloschyna to bronze.
Kazan 2015
In the technical solo at the 2015 World Championships in Kazan , Romaschina again won gold ahead of Carbonell, who in turn prevailed over the Chinese Sun Wenyan . In the free solo it was bronze behind Ishchenko and the Chinese Huang Xuechen . Carbonell also landed in 5th place twice: in the technical program of the duet (here with Clara Camacho ) and in the free duet (with Klamburg).
