doping

Olympic Games 2008

In 2008, he came third at the Beijing Olympics . In December, the IOC dismissed him from the bronze medal after testing positive for testosterone in the local doping control . Zichan appealed against this decision to the International Court of Sport (CAS), which overturned its disqualification in June 2010 due to a breakdown in the laboratory that analyzed the samples. IOC Vice President Thomas Bach announced that the IOC would conduct another analysis to overturn the CAS ruling.

2004 Olympic Games

In post-testing of doping samples from the 2004 Olympic Games in spring 2012, new test methods led to positive doping results with anabolic steroids. Zichan was then deleted from the start list for the hammer throw qualification at the 2012 Olympic Games on August 3, 2012 . In December 2012, awarded silver medal there, he was consistently denied .

World Championships 2005 and European Championships 2006

In April 2014, he was stripped of the 2005 world championship title because of doping . In this context, he also lost a first place at the European Championships in 2006 . At this event, Zichan had doped himself with testosterone again.
