Andrei Chakimowitsch Abduvaliyev ( Russian Андрей Хакимович Абдувалиев , English transcription Andrey Abduvaliyev ; born June 30, 1966 in Leningrad ) is a former hammer thrower . He is an Olympic champion and two-time world champion.

Until 1991 he competed for the Soviet Union . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he won the gold medal with a width of 82.54 m. As a starter for Tajikistan , he was then twice world champion: 1993 in Stuttgart (81.64 m) and 1995 in Gothenburg (81.56 m). He also won the Central Asian Games in Tashkent in 1995 . At the 1996 Olympic Games , he was the Tajik flag bearer, but was unable to participate due to an injury.

In 1997 he changed his nationality and now represented Uzbekistan . He is one of the few athletes who competed for three countries. In 1998 he was Asian champion and won silver at the Asian Games in Bangkok . In 1999 he ended his sporting career.

Abduwalijew set his personal best in 1990 in Sochi with 83.46 m. He is 1.86 meters tall and weighed 112 kg at competition times.
