Aljona Wiktarauna Dubitskaja , b. Hryschko ( Belarusian Алёна Віктараўна Дубіцкая (Грышко) , English transcription Aliona Dubitskaya (Hryshko) ; born January 25, 1990 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian shot putter .

Athletic career

Aljona Dubizkaja gained her first international experience at the 2007 Youth World Championships in Ostrava , Czech Republic , where she won the gold medal with 15.91 m. In 2008 she finished fourth with 16.55 m at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz . In 2009 she won the gold medal at the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad with 17.59 m.

In 2013, she took fifth place at the Summer Universiade in Kazan with 17.88 m and qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated with 16.53 m in qualification.

In 2014 she qualified for the European Championships in Zurich and finished in seventh place with 17.95 m. Thereupon she was banned from the world association for six months because of the use of the banned substance Oxilofrin . After the suspension expired in spring 2015, she qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she finished sixth with 18.52 m in the final .

At the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland , she finished ninth with 17.45 m and at the European Championships in Amsterdam she came in sixth with 18.04 m. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she finished eighth with 18.23 m in the final . In 2017 Dubizkaja qualified for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade and achieved seventh place there with 17.85 m. She also qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 17.68 m in qualification .

In 2018 she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she finished sixth in the final with 18.21 m. She won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Berlin in 2018 .

In 2009, as well as in 2014 and 2015, Dubitskaya became the Belarusian champion in the shot put outdoors and in 2017 indoors.
