Dsmitryj Assanau ( Belarusian Дзмітрый Асанаў ; English Dzmitry Asanau * 18th May 1996 in maladzyechna ) is a Belarusian boxer in the bantamweight .
successes
In 2012 he won the gold medal at the European Junior Championships in Sofia and in 2014 the silver medal at the European Youth Championships in Zagreb . In 2015 he won the Belarusian championships.
At the 2015 European Games in Baku , he came through walkover without a fight against the Albanian Rexhildo Zeneli, who was disqualified for doping, in the quarter-finals, where he defeated the Bulgarian Stefan Ivanov. In the subsequent semifinals, he beat Qais Ashfaq from England, before he was eliminated in the final against the Russian Bakhtovar Nasirow .
At the 2015 World Championships in Doha , he won against Aram Awagjan from Armenia, Segundo Padilla from Ecuador and Andy Cruz Gómez from Cuba, before he was eliminated in the semifinals against Michael Conlon from Ireland. With a victory against Shiva Thapa , who was also third from India , he qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. There he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Erdenebatyn Tsendbaatar . He was also eliminated in the round of 16 at the 2017 European Championships in Ukraine.
In 2019 he won the European Games in Minsk , beating Jurij Schestak and Gabil Mamedow , among others .
He has also won international tournaments in Lithuania, Russia, Sweden and Belarus.
