Gabil Abil ogly Mamedow ( Russian Габил Абил оглы Мамедов , English Gabil Abil ogly Mamedov ; born April 19, 1994 ) is a lightweight Russian boxer of Azerbaijani origin .

successes

In 2011 he was still starting in the light flyweight division, Russian youth champion and silver medalist at the European youth championships in Dublin . It wasn't until 2016 that he achieved another great success when he won the Russian lightweight championships. He was then called up at the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv and fought his way to the final against Mihail Cvasiuc (5: 0), Fredrik Jensen (5: 0), Karen Tonakanyan (5: 0) and Pavlo Ishchenko (4: 1) he was eliminated against Jurij Schestak (1: 4). At the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg, he lost in the first fight against Murat Yıldırım (1: 4).

At the 2019 European Games in Minsk , he reached the final with a win against Otar Eranossian (5: 0), where he lost to Dzmitryi Assanau (1: 4) and won the silver medal.
