Murat Yıldırım (born July 31, 1996 in Trabzon ) is a German lightweight boxer of Turkish origin .

The left wingman started boxing at the age of six and had a record of 145 fights with 122 wins in 2017. In 2010 he was German school champion, in 2011 and 2012 German junior champion, in 2013 and 2014 German youth champion, and in 2016 German U21 champion.

At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Astana he reached seventh place after losing to Viktor Petrov in the quarter-finals . Against Petrov he was defeated in the first fight at the European Junior Championships in Sofia in 2012 . At the European Youth Championships in Rotterdam in 2013 he lost the second fight against Maksim Kriwtsow, which he had defeated at the Brandenburg Youth Cup 2013. Also at the Youth World Championships 2014 in Sofia he was eliminated in the second fight against Shukurjon Rahimov with 1: 2. In the first fight of the European Youth Championships in Zagreb in 2014 he lost against Michal Takács 1: 2.

He has boxed in the Bundesliga since 2015 and has won each of his five fights so far. In March 2017, he won the lightweight chemistry cup , defeating Radomir Obruśniak, Enrico Lacruz and, in the final, Delante Johnson, the US youth world champion of 2016. With this success, Yıldırım was nominated by the German boxing association for the 2017 world championships in Hamburg . There he defeated Gabil Mamedow (4: 1) and Arashi Morisaka (3: 2), before he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Lázaro Álvarez (0: 5).

He won a bronze medal at the 2018 Chemistry Cup.

Murat Yıldırım comes from Berlin-Kreuzberg and trained as a wholesaler and foreign trader. He is in a relationship with the boxer Ekaterini Stamatoglou.
