regulate

Eligible for entry were male and female boxers aged 17 and 18 who were registered in the AIBA database, with men competing in ten and women in three weight classes. Each nation was only allowed to provide one boxer per weight class. The male participants boxed three rounds of three minutes per fight, with a one-minute break between the rounds, while the female participants fought four rounds of two minutes per fight, also with a one-minute break. Head protection and betting boxing gloves with 10 oz were also mandatory.

All referees and point judges were provided by the AIBA, and the 10 point must scoring system used in professional boxing was used for scoring.
