Vincenzo Arecchia (* 28. October 1996 ) is an Italian amateur boxer in the Light Welterweight .

successes

Areccia won a bronze medal at the 2014 Youth World Championships in Sofia and was therefore responsible for the only Italian medal win at this World Cup. He had made it through victories against Sizwe Ngema from South Africa, Liam Pario from Australia, Patrick McDonagh from England and Jawid Gulijew from Azerbaijan in the semifinals, where he was eliminated against Bibert Tumenow from Russia.

He was thus also qualified for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where he won the gold medal against Viktor Petrow from Ukraine, Adem Avcı from Turkey and Toshihiro Suzuki from Japan. He was then awarded the Newcomer Award at the Italian Sportrait Awards for 2014.

In an international match in April 2015, he defeated Slawa Kerber from Germany. In the 2016 European Olympic qualification in Turkey, he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Howhannes Batschkow .

After he was eliminated in the quarter-finals at the U22 European Championships in 2017 in Brăila , he won a bronze medal at the same event in 2018 in Târgu Jiu . At the 2018 EU Championships in Spain, he lost to Kieran Molloy in the quarter-finals .
