Adem Furkan Avcı (born January 1, 1996 ) is a Turkish light welterweight amateur boxer .

successes

Avcı won the 2010 European Schoolchildren Championships in Yambol, Bulgaria, with victories against Andrei Obrucicov from Israel, Narek Poghosyan from Armenia, Igor Abbasow from Russia and Iman Achmedli from Azerbaijan. In 2012 he won the European Junior Championships in Sofia , defeating Dariusz Ziemczyk from Poland, Narek Poghosyan from Armenia, Daniel Janicijevic from Austria and Alexander Morochin from Russia.

In 2013 he took part in the European Youth Championships in Rotterdam , defeated the Bosnian Haris Mešanović in the preliminary round, but lost to the Ukrainian Yaroslav Samofalov in the quarter-finals . In August 2014, he won a bronze medal at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing . With a win against the Hungarian Richard Toth he made it to the semifinals, lost to Vincenzo Arecchia from Italy, but defeated the Russian Bibert Tumenow in the fight for third place.

In October 2014 he was defeated at the European Youth Championships in Zagreb in the preliminary round against the Englishman Patrick McDonagh. At the 2015 European Games in Baku , he defeated András Vadász from Hungary, but then lost to Vincenzo Mangiacapre from Italy.
