Kieran Molloy (* 26. November 1998 ) is an Irish boxer in the welterweight division .

Career

Molloy started boxing at the age of six, trained at the Oughterard Boxing Club and boxed in the right display box . He is the bronze medalist of the European Schoolchildren Championships 2012 in Russia , the Junior World Championships 2013 in Ukraine and the Junior European Championships 2014 in Russia.

In 2018, at the age of 19, he became the Irish adult champion for the first time, defeating Dean Walsh , among others . At the 2018 EU Championships in Spain , he defeated Ruben Veciunca and Vincenzo Arecchia , before being eliminated in the semifinals against Pat McCormack with a bronze medal.

In 2019 he won the Irish welterweight championship again and took part in the 2019 European Games in Minsk , where he was eliminated in the second fight against Jauheni Dauhaljawez.
