Chen Nien-chin (born May 10, 1997 ) is a boxer from the Republic of China (Taiwan) .
Career
In the youth division (U17), Chen was world champion in the middleweight division (up to 75 kg) in 2013 and in the junior division (U19) in 2014 she was vice world champion and silver medalist at the Youth Olympic Games .
Chen's first tournament in the women's field was the 2015 Balkan Tournament, in which she was eliminated in the first fight against Khadija Mardi , Morocco , with 2-1 judges' votes. In 2016, Chen won the Taiwanese Olympic selection tournament and thus took part in the Asian Olympic qualification tournament. Here she won three fights before she was eliminated in the semi-finals against the Chinese Li Qian (3-0) and thus missed the qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . But she was able to catch up with a surprising success at the 2016 World Championships . Here she struck u. a. Andreia Bandeira , Brazil (3: 0), and Mardi (3: 0) before losing to Claressa Shields , USA (3: 0) in the semi-finals and thus winning a bronze medal.
