Enrico Lacruz , even Enrico La Cruz (* 31 August 1993 in Arnhem ) is a Dutch boxer in the lightweight .

Career

Enrico Lacruz is around 1.70 m tall, became the Dutch bantamweight champion in 2011 and reached fifth place at the European Youth Championships in Dublin in 2011 , when he was only eliminated in the quarter-finals with a 5: 8 against Jurij Schestak . In 2012 he won the Dutch lightweight championship and reached seventh place at the U22 European Championships in Kaliningrad after losing to Mykola Butsenko in the quarter-finals .

In 2014 he again secured the Dutch bantamweight championship and in 2015 won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Samokow . He defeated it in the lightweight Vanja Bačić (3-0), Marsel Terteryan (3-0) and Mateo Komadina (TKO), before he was eliminated in the semifinals against the later gold medalist Joseph Cordina with 0-3. With this success he qualified for the 2015 World Championships in Doha , where he lost in the first duel against Domenico Valentino (0: 3). He lost to this in the first fight at the European Olympic qualification in 2016 in Samsun with 0: 2.

In June 2016, he surprisingly won the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Baku by defeating Pedro Gomes (TKO), Hursant Imankulijew (2-0), Hakan Erşeker (3-0), Lai Chu-en (3-0) and Anwar Junussow (3: 0). He then took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was again able to defeat Lai Chu-en (2: 1) and then eliminated in the round of 16 against Dordschnjambuugiin Otgondalai (1: 2). In 2016 and 2017 he again won the national lightweight championship.

At the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv , he moved into the quarter-finals by beating Artur Bril (3: 2), where he was defeated by Calum French (1: 4), but qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg . There he beat Delante Johnson (5: 0) and was eliminated in the round of 16 against Lázaro Álvarez (0: 5).

He won a bronze medal at the 2019 European Games in Minsk .
