Anwar Junussow

Anvar Yunusov (born February 1, 1987 ) is a Tajik boxer. Yunusof was a participant in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and in London in 2012 , as well as being Asian Champion in 2011 and bronze medalist at the World Championships in 2011 and the Asian Championships in 2013.

Career

Yunusov took in 2005, so already with 18 years, for the first time at the World Championships in flyweight part. He beat Liu Shih Jung, Taipei (25:11) and Bato-Munko Vankeev, Belarus (31:14) before he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against eventual world champion Lee Ok-sung , South Korea (9:15). The following year, Yunusuf was second at a tournament in Istanbul and won the silver medal at the student world championships in Almaty . At the Asian Games in 2006 he was eliminated in the first fight against eventual runner-up Somjit Jongjohor, Thailand (25:20).

At the Asian Championships in 2007, Yunusuf won the bronze medal after victories against Hwang Chol Nam, North Korea , and Kim Ki Suk, South Korea (23: 6) and a semi-final defeat against eventual runner-up Yang Bo, People's Republic of China (8:24). With this success behind him, he took part in the World Championships for the second time in the same year , but was eliminated in the round of 16 against Samir Mammadov, Azerbaijan (23:13).

In order to achieve the missed qualification for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , Yunusov took part in the 1st Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Bangkok in 2008 . a. with victories against Pak Jong Chol, North Korea (15: 3) and the 2005 world champion Lee Ok-sung , South Korea (16: 8), and thus secured a place in the flyweight Olympic Games .

The following year, Yunusov beat the 2009 World Cup third-placed John Joe Nevin , Ireland (6-0) at a tournament in Ankara , before being eliminated in the first match against Zhang Jiawei , China ( 3-6 ) at the Asian Games .

In 2011 he started at the Asian Championships in Incheon and after victories against Zhang Jiawei, People's Republic of China (20:15), Madi Shulakov, Kazakhstan (22:12), Chih Yuan Kao, Taipei (26: 7) and in the final against Dorjnyambuu Otgondalai , Mongolia (13:10) the gold medal. With this success in his back, Yunusov started at the 2011 World Championships in Baku and failed only after victories against Furkan Meniz Ulas, Turkey (RSC 1st), Luke Boyd, Australia (17: 7) and Sergei Wodopjanow , Russia (19: 9) in the semifinals at the later world champion from Cuba Lázaro Álvarez (13:18) and thus not only secured the bronze medal, but also a quota place at the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the bantamweight division.

At the Asian Championships in Amman in 2013 Junussow won a bronze medal in the lightweight (-60 kg).

World Series of Boxing

In the 2011/2012 season Junussow started for Dynamo Moscow in the World Series of Boxing . During the regular season he won three out of four fights. He was also able to win his fight in the semifinals against the Astana Arlans. In the 2012/2013 season Junussow moved to the USA knockouts. Of his three fights, however, he only won the one against the representative of Italia Thunders, Domenico Valentino (3-0).
