Vittorio Parrinello

Vittorio Jahyn Parrinello (born August 8, 1983 in Piedimonte Matese ) is an Italian boxer. Parrinello took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2012 in London in bantamweight . Since 2010 he starts for Rome in the World Series of Boxing .

Amateur career

Vittorio Parrinello won a bronze medal at the 2006 EU Championships in Hungary after a semi-final defeat by Joseph Murray . At the 2006 European Championships in Bulgaria he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Ali Aliyev .

He finished the EU Championships in Ireland in 2007 after another defeat by Murray in the quarter-finals and started at the 2007 World Championships in Chicago . There he defeated Nikoloz Izoria , but then retired against Enchbatyn Badar-Uugan .

At the European Olympic qualification tournaments in Pescara and Athens in 2008 , he defeated Artur Grigoryan , Dávid Oltványi, Hüseyin Dündar and Rudolf Dydi and lost to Nikoloz Izoria and Ali Hallab . He had just qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , where he lost in the first fight against Worapoy Petchkoom .

In 2009, he won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara by beating Wessam Salamana and Abdelhalim Ouradi. He also took part in the 2009 World Championships in Milan , but failed in the first fight against Denis Makarov . At the 2010 European Championships in Russia, he lost to Gamal Yafai in the round of 16 .

In 2011 he was eliminated from the European Championships in Turkey in 2011 with 8: 9 against Răzvan Andreiana in the quarter-finals and won a bronze medal at the World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro . He was defeated in the semifinals against Mohammed Ouadahi . At the 2011 World Championships in Baku , he lost in the round of 16 against Lázaro Álvarez , having previously defeated Satoshi Shimizu .

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 he defeated Jonas Matheus , but then lost just 9:11 to the eventual Olympic champion Luke Campbell . In 2013 he took part in the World Championships in Almaty , where he was eliminated in the second preliminary round against Aram Avagjan .

Professional career

He made his professional debut on June 20, 2014, winning the Italian super bantamweight championship against Daniele Limone in August 2015 and defending the title against Luca Rigoldi in March 2016.

In May 2017, however, he lost the rematch against Rigoldi just on points and failed in April 2018 by TKO against Iuliano Gallo.
