Nikoloz Izoria ( Armenian ნიკოლოზ იზორია ; born August 31, 1985 ) is a former Georgian boxer .
successes
In 2002 Nikoloz Izoria won bronze medals at the European Cadet Championships in Ukraine and the World Cadet Championships in Hungary .
He achieved his greatest success by winning the silver flyweight medal at the 2004 European Championships in Croatia . After victories against Vincenzo Picardi from Italy (20:10), Don Broadhurst from England (35:16), Kadri Kordel from Turkey (37:17) and Andrzej Rżany from Poland (27:15), he lost in the final against Georgi Balakschin from Russia (21:39). He was then qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece , where he defeated Walid Cherif from Tunisia (24:14) and was defeated in the round of 16 against Fuad Aslanov from Azerbaijan (25:27).
In 2008 he qualified in the European eliminations with victories against Artur Gavoci from Albania (27: 6), Vittorio Parrinello from Italy (24:13), Alexei Schajdulin from Bulgaria (TKO), Michał Chudecki from Poland (26:23) and Bashir Hassan from Sweden (18: 5) for the 2008 Olympic Games in China . There he defeated Thato Batshegi from Botswana (14: 4) before failing in the round of 16 against Şahin İmranov from Azerbaijan (9:18).
He was also a participant in the 2005 World Cup in China (round of 16), the 2006 European Championship in Bulgaria (quarter-finals), the 2007 World Cup in the USA (preliminary round), the 2011 European Championship in Turkey (round of 16) and the 2011 World Cup in Azerbaijan (preliminary round) .
