Cadet world championships in boxing
The Cadet World Boxing Championships were organized by AIBA and held regularly from 2001 to 2007 (except for 2004) on an annual basis. The first cadet world championship took place in the Azerbaijani capital Baku (2007 it took place again in Baku). Eligible participants were 15 and 16 year olds.
In 2009 the first new Junior World Championship was held in Yerevan . Since then, the Cadet World Championships have been replaced by the new Junior World Championships (eligible participants are of course only boxers aged 15 and 16), as the old Junior World Championships have been replaced by the Youth World Championships since 2008 .
