Erdenebatyn Tsendbaatar (born October 16, 1996 in Archangai-Aimag , Mongolia ) is a Mongolian boxer in the lightweight . He took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in bantamweight .

successes

Erdenebatyn Tsendbaatar is Mongolian bantamweight champion in 2015 and 2016, defeating Enkhjargal Iderkhuu in both finals. In March 2016 he won the Chemistry Cup in Germany with victories against Adrian Kowal, Sharafa Raman and Zhang Jiawei . He then started in the Asian Olympic qualification in China until April 2016 and made it to the quarter-finals against Adrienne Francisco and Jaafar Al-Sudani, where he was eliminated by Qairat Yeraliyev . But in June 2016 he still took part in the global qualification in Azerbaijan and won an Olympic ticket by winning against Riccardo D'Andrea, Ivan Delgado, İbrahim Gökçek, Juan Reyes and Arashi Morisaka. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he then defeated Benson Gicharu and Dsmitryj Assanau , before being eliminated in the quarter-finals against Shakur Stevenson .

In 2017 he became the Mongolian lightweight champion and defeated Dordschnjambuugiin Otgondalai in the final fight . He then started at the Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018 , where he won the gold medal. He won another gold medal at the Asian Championships in Thailand in 2019 . At the 2019 World Championships in Yekaterinburg he reached the semifinals with three wins, where he was eliminated with a bronze medal against the eventual world champion Mirasisbek Mirzachalilow . In the quarterfinals he had beaten Kurt Walker .
