Hong Kong participated in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the 16th participation in the Summer Olympics. The NOK Hong Kong ( Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China ) nominated 37 athletes in nine sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the swimmer Stephanie Au .
