Ho Kwan Kit (born April 20, 1997 in Hong Kong ) is a table tennis player from Hong Kong. He took part in the 2016 Olympic Games.

Career

Ho Kwan Kit was one of Hong Kong's best players from a young age. He performed internationally for the first time in 2014 and was able to reach the final at the Philippines Open, where he defeated Zhan Jian and thus secured gold. In 2015 he moved into the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time and took part in the World Youth Championship, but had to admit defeat to Xue Fei in the quarterfinals. In doubles, mixed and together with the team he was able to win bronze. He also took part for the first time in the adult division at the World Cup and the Australian Open, where he met Jung Young-sik in the final , but lost 4-0. He won gold in doubles with Lam Siu Hang .

In 2016 he took part for the first time in singles in the Asian Cup and with the team in the World Cup and in the Olympic Games, in which the Hong Kong team reached the quarter-finals. In June, Ho reached a personal record with world number 28. At the China Open he had to admit defeat in the quarter-finals 3: 4 against Olympic runner-up Zhang Jike , in doubles with Tang Peng and Wong Chun Ting as well as in the U-21 area he won numerous medals on the World Tour this year , at the Grand Finals, he and Tang took bronze.

In 2017 he reached the World Cup quarter-finals in doubles with Wong Chun Ting , which they lost after a 2-0 lead 3: 4 against the eventual winners Fan Zhendong / Xu Xin . They also won bronze at the Asian Cup and silver at the World Tour Grand Finals in December after they had awarded four match points in the final against Masataka Morizono / Yūya Ōshima . In 2018, the Hong Kong team reached the round of 16 at the World Cup , losing in the group stage to eventual runner-up world champions Germany and semi-finalists Sweden and in the main round to Japan. In addition, Ho and Wong won the Hong Kong Open doubles with a 3-0 final win over Morizono / Ōshima . At the Grand Finals they reached the final again, but this time they lost to Jang Woojin / Lim Jong-hoon . In 2019 they won the Qatar Open and qualified again in doubles for the Grand Finals - for Ho it was the fourth time in a row - but could not win a medal there for the first time due to the first round against Fan Zhendong / Xu Xin. In July 2019, Ho Kwan Kit was no longer in the top 100 for the first time since the beginning of 2015.

Play style

Ho Kwan Kit is an attacking player. He uses the Neo Hurricane 03 on the forehand and the Tenergy 05 on the backhand . He uses the wood of the world champion Ma Long, namely the DHS Hurricane 03 .
