Madagascar took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the twelfth participation in the Summer Olympics. The Comité Olympique Malgache nominated six athletes in four sports.

The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the judoka Asaramanitra Ratiarison .
